چکیده
Terminalia catappa and subspathulata are two species of the Combretaceae family medium to large forest trees. The fruits T. known for edible nuts commonly as tropical almonds due their similarity in taste with commerce. Therefore, chemical profiles were examined ascertain potential value food or health uses. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS) ultrahigh-pressure liquid chromatography-electrospray ionisation tandem mass (UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS) techniques employed profile extracts ensure good coverage classes metabolites fruit extracts. GCMS results revealed that rich palmitic acid (33.2%), linoleoyl chloride (29.1%), oxacyclohexadecan-2-one pentadecanolide (16.2%). In comparison, major constituents (18.1%) its methyl ester, palmitate (9.3%). Furthermore, a total 38 compounds putatively identified 70% aqueous methanolic both via UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS analysis, comprising three organic acids, sixteen hydrolysable tannins, ten phenolic eight flavonoids, diarylheptanoid. GCMS- spectrometry- (LCMS-) LCMS-based metabolite obtained present study have diversity fruits, potentially valorised functional foods nutraceutical ingredients plant-based products.

Antidiabetic activity of Terminalia catappa Linn fruits.
In view of alleged antidiabetic potential, effect of the petroleum ether, methanol, and aqueous extracts of Terminalia catappa Linn (combretaceae) fruit, on fasting blood sugar levels and serum biochemical analysis in alloxan-induced diabetic rats were investigated. All the three extracts of Terminalia catappa produced a significant antidiabetic activity at dose levels 1/5 of their lethal doses...

Terminalia catappa Linn bark is used to treat dysentery by various populations in Southeast Asian countries, and its leaves have also been used in traditional medicine to treat hepatitis in India and the Philippines. Here, the antifungal actions of crude hydro-alcoholic extract (TcHE) and fractions from T. catappa leaves were assessed via the agar diffusion and microdilution tests on Candida re...
